The North Ryde manufacturing facility remains an important centre for both AstraZeneca and manufacturing in Australia. **What you’ll do**
We currently have three opportunities to join our Microbiology team:
Working hours may include afternoon shift (2pm to 10:30pm), Saturday work, Sunday work, or a combination of all three and can be discussed during interview.
Reporting to the Microbiology Team Lead, you will be responsible for a wide range of microbiological tests, including quality control testing and Environmental Monitoring, and you will be given the opportunity to improve our processes. In addition, you will contribute in training exercises. Responsibilities include:
- Environmental monitoring of the production facility, including viable, non-viable and utilities testing such as water and compressed gas sampling.
- Housekeeping activities, stock take and stock control, goods receipt and media manufacture
- Visual inspection of process simulation trials
- Ensuring appropriate quality systems are followed to meet GLP, GMP, and HSE standards
- Understanding the quality control processes and performing appropriate tasks in the laboratory to meet customer demands
**Essential for the role**
- Knowledge and understanding of Microbiological testing and analysis
**Desirable for the role**
- Cleanroom experience
- 1 year of experience within a laboratory conducting routine tests
- Pharmaceutical/GMP experience
- Qualified or working towards tertiary education in Microbiology or related scientific discipline.
