Costco Ipswich Meat Department Supervisor

As the **Meat Department Supervisor,** you will be the driving force behind the effective management of employees and direct operations of the Meat department and other areas of the warehouse. This will require you to maintain operational standards of safety and quality while leading, mentoring and coaching staff in delivering superior member service. Some of your responsibilities will include:
**Description of position**:
Supervises and participates in the daily operations of the Meat Department. Supports the Meat Department management team in promoting a highlevel of productivity. Coordinates employee lunches and breaks, reviews employees, carries out new programs, and addresses member issues. Implements and upholds proper Meat Department and general safety procedures and standards. Maintains courteous member service at all times. Determines production requirements and checks quality of finished merchandise. Participates in meat cutting and other department duties.
**Daily tasks and responsibilities**:
- Develops, coaches, counsels, and directs Meat Department personnel. Provides feedback to promote team work and accountability among employees. Interactively monitors Meat Department employee performance and participates in performance reviews as needed. Implements and upholds proper Meat Department and general safety procedures and standards.
- Leads, provides training, encouragement, advice and feedback to meat department employees. Coordinates activities and breaks for meat department personnel.
- Upholds and teaches Costco Meat Department policies and procedures.
- Determines production requirements. Checks quality and consistency of finished merchandise. Oversees merchandise presentation and merchandising.
- Carries out and ensures employee participation in Meat Manager's plan for sales and merchandising. Participates in meat cutting.
- Follows Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position. Completes and complies with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification and all safety training required by warehouse and Meat Department.
- Reviews sanitation log and checks for health code compliance.
- Assists with physical inventory periodically.
- Performs routine maintenance for machinery and equipment. Informs manager of equipment repairs needed.
- Assists in other departments of warehouse as necessary.
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees and vendors.
