**Position Information**:
Blaxland High School is a comprehensive, co-educational school that services the educational needs of the community of the lower Blue Mountains from Lapstone to Warrimoo. Enrolment numbers around 1000 including 43 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students (4%) and a support unit.
The school has forged productive relationships with partner primary schools as part of the Lower Blue Mountains Learning Community as well as with the University of Western Sydney through its Fast Forward Program.
Blaxland High School enjoys a strong reputation in academic, sporting, performing and creative arts achievements. We provide a broad curriculum, including academic extension programs, diverse elective and vocational programs.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Approval to teach English (11-12) including English Extension 1 and 2, History Extension, Society and Culture.
- Demonstrated capacity to develop, implement and evaluate explicit teaching strategies and provide feedback particularly for students with additional learning needs, including HPGE.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and awareness and understanding of the needs of Aboriginal students, families and community.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the capacity to build positive relationships with staff, students, parents and the community.
- Capacity to implement whole school programs including, film making.
