**About the role**

The Practice Lead is responsible for the day-to-day management, leadership and oversight of the Practice Hub team, including Practice Advisors, an Intake Officer and an after-hours On-Call team.

The Practice Lead holds overall responsibility for ensuring that the Practice Hub provides expert case advice, support and guidance to non-family-based care employees.

**Key responsibilities of this role include**:

- Lead and supervise all staff within the Practice Hub, including Practice Advisors, the On Call team and an Intake Officer
- Develop and implement an Operational Plan to provide clear direction and guidance on the role and scope of the Practice Hub function
- Provide comprehensive support to care teams aimed at ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children with complex support needs
- Undertake practice quality audits and work collaboratively with care teams and key stakeholders to implement recommendations and improvements
- Facilitate regular practice forums aimed at increasing the knowledge, skills and capabilities of care teams
- Develop and implement a model for managing intake for residential care services
- Work in collaboration with the Health, Safety and Environment team to contribute to safe systems of work for employees
- Develop systems to allow for the identification and analysis of concerning trends and prepare reports for key stakeholders
- Implement tracking and reporting processes that identify key reporting areas for assessing care outcomes for children in non-family-based care

**Who are we looking for?**

This role requires an experienced leader of practice, well versed in guiding the provision of high-level quality care to children and young people with complex or extreme support needs.

**Essential criteria to be successful in this role**:

- Tertiary undergraduate degree or higher qualifications in Child Protection, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related discipline
- A comprehensive and up to date understanding of child protection legislation and practices, frameworks and tools used to identify and assess risk and safety
- An understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and values, and awareness of the current issues faced by Indigenous children, young people and their families
- Demonstrated experience in a position with similar key responsibilities and duties
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to produce written reports and deliver training to small groups
- A valid paid Blue Card and the ability to obtain a Licensed Care Services Suitability Screening
