We are currently seeking a Contract Manager will be directly reporting to the Head of Contract Management and to Program Managers within the program portfolio for Australia & New Zealand and will manage the execution of main client contracts (from rolling stock supply to rail services realisation).
You will advise the Program Managers on the best contractual strategy with an eye toward reducing costs and risks and increasing profits. You may also be responsible for supporting the preparation, negotiation and review of main client contracts liaising with precontract teams as well as supplier or subcontracts as requested by procurement department.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Ensuring the drafting of timely and precise contractual correspondence.
- Ensure variation orders are properly identified and managed.
- Ensure contract close-out, extension or renewal.
- Managing all contractual communication with the customer to make certain that everything is correctly registered.
- Provide contractual interpretation on different provisions to protect the company’s interests and mitigate risks, including making recommendations and supporting negotiation with customers.
- Manage contractual records and documentation, including contractual correspondence and change orders, with the Program Manager.
- Supporting and guiding all stakeholders through complex negotiations in both escalated technical and non-technical requirements.
- Provide support on the correspondence with interested third parties (e..g. the regulator (NoBo/DeBo, Network authority, etc.) as required.
- Ensure all project contributors are suitably aware of contract terms.
- Managing any contractual claims, coordinating with with the Legal department including reviewing and negotiating settlement agreements.
- Complete post-contract analysis, monitor competitive terms, identify lessons learnt and propose improvements on terms and conditions.
- Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy. As appropriate, contribute to or influence company policies.
- Ensure accurate records are completed and maintained in accordance with procedures in place, and work in progress is communicated to Line Managers and team members.
**Profile**
- Have at least 5 years’ experience in engineering / risk / commercial and contracts management.
- Possess a tertiary qualification relevant to the position.
- Relevant experience in the delivery of infrastructure projects preferred.
- Experience with office management software e.g. MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, specifically).
- Spanish desirable.
