What is the role?
Do you want to work for an Agency that makes a big community impact? Applications are sought from applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Team Leader to further strengthen the AFP's Forensics Command work in facial recognition and forensic art, in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders.
The Team Leader is responsible for managing the delivery of a range of key services, including:

- facial recognition;
- facial image comparison for identity resolution, including for court purposes;
- facial composites (face fits) and photo boards;
- age progressions of fugitives and long-term missing persons; and - craniofacial reconstructions.

As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change, and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?
Lead a team responsible for delivery of operational outcomes in facial recognition and forensic art.
Promote a positive team culture, developing team members, while managing performance, delegating responsibility and inspiring the workforce.
Working closely the Forensics Command Executive to progress continuous improvement, capability development, quality assurance and risk.
Manage stakeholder relationships and expectations while ensuring timely delivery of key operational tasks.
Influencing future capabilities and systems to support the team's services.
Managing and prioritising demand for the team's services.
Essential Requirements
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
Depending on operational duties, periodic psychological clearances undertaken with an AFP mental health clinician.
Desirable Requirements
The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
Tertiary qualifications in relevant field.
Relevant qualification or extensive experience and knowledge in area of expertise.
Additional Information
This position has been advertised in multiple locations however, the role is located in Canberra, ACT. Successful applicants must be willing to relocate to Canberra at their own expense.
This role attracts a composite allowance in recognition of expanded working hours, normal patterns of attendance and shift patterns (such as afternoon shifts, weekends and Designated Public Holidays) that are required under the Operations working pattern. In accord
