**About the role**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Channel Data Operations Lead to join our team. Reporting to the Channel Integration and Visualisation Manager, this role is responsible for the production and management of industrialised datasets, as well as supporting our channel analysts to fully realise visualisation and self-serve reporting tools.

This role will have a strong focus on joining complex datasets from varied sources to help lead the Customer and Business Operations (CBO) leaders to achieve operational and strategic goals.

This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid working position which is located preferably in Melbourne or Brisbane.

**How will I help?**
- Key accountabilities of this role include:

- Manage and source base datasets and develop efficient and reliable pipelines for operational reporting
- Support visualisation analysts to develop self-serve data visualisations that enable true understanding of performance ranging from interaction level up to enterprise performance
- Develop the best practice of industrialised data needs of the wider Channel Analytics team and manage adherence to that best practice
- Lead the operational reporting team’s transition from SAS Enterprise Guide to Azure and BI data platforms, providing guidance for appropriate use cases with Technology Data Operations teams.
- Work in accordance with Bupa’s designs, standards and guidelines, and patterns.
- Keep abreast of emerging technology and trends in data

**What do I need?**
- Educated to minimum of degree level in engineering, computer science or related technology discipline
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience as a data engineer
- Azure certifications(s) or equivalent will be highly regarded
- Ability to think creatively to solve problems, including conflicting priorities and new solution development
- Strong SQL/TSQL and (Py)Spark proficiency.
- Solid engineering practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure data services, including Synapse, DataBricks, and PowerBI.
- Strong language skills in SQL/TSQL and Python.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Git.
- Data modelling and dimensional experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of modern data management practices, cloud-first approaches, and automation.
- Experience with API/SFTP ingestion is desirable.
