**The Role**
Directorate of Treasury and Accounts Receivable provides full shared service Treasury and Accounts Receivable functions to the Department of Defence and the Australian Signal Directorate. We are looking for a motivated Treasury officer to join our growing team. This corporate treasury role offers work of high strategic importance to the Division, in a diverse, dynamic and supportive branch.
We are looking for a Treasury professional who understands Treasury reporting and accounting processes to meet legislative, accounting and stakeholder requirements. You will be a part of a highly operational team that oversee the cash and liquidity management to ensure treasury deadlines are met.
You will build sustainable and effective relationships with team members and actively participate in teamwork and group activities. Working collaboratively within the team you will deal with stakeholders on a daily basis to ensure treasury matters are progressed in accordance with Defence objectives.
**About our Team**
Treasury team is of high strategic importance to the Defence portfolio through management of Defence’s appropriations and bank accounts in accordance with legislation. Treasury makes daily payments to suppliers, is responsible to receipt funds, managing the financial systems in accordance with Policy. Treasury also provides policy advice on the creation, management, reporting and reconciliation of external bank accounts.
Within the General Finance function an APS5 Financial Analyst - Treasury is accountable under limited direction for the delivery of analysis and reporting treasury aspects including financial and legislative reporting, accounting for treasury transactions and compliance to support informed decision making. They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
An APS5 Financial Analyst - Treasury is accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. They will interpret and provide advice within the general finance function based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will undertake specialist and technical research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessment and investigations and perform procedural, clerical, administrative support work to achieve results.
An APS5 Financial Analyst - Treasury will coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent to a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members. They may be a team coach or supervise a team and be accountable to set work priorities, allocate work, and manage workflows and performance. They are expected to be capable of reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others and identifying opportunities for on-the-job training within a work unit.
An APS5 Financial Analyst - Treasury will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
