**About the Department of Education**

**The Role**
The Finance Branch is responsible for the ongoing financial management and performance of the Department of Education through the following functions:
- Provision of strategic financial advice and reporting to the department through dedicated Finance Business Partners
- Management of the department’s internal budgeting function and reporting and administration of the internal budgeting system, TM1
- Development of the financial statements, treasury and taxation management and other key financial reporting
- Ensuring the department’s compliance with the Commonwealth Resource Management Framework through the provision of policy advice, compliance monitoring and delivery of finance training to department staff; and
- Managing the operations and providing advice on domestic and international travel, and departmental credit cards for the department.
The Corporate and Financial Policy Section is made up of three teams:
- Financial Governance and Literacy
- Corporate Finance Business Partners
- Travel and Credit Cards
**Duties and Responsibilities**
