**Position Purpose**:

- Responsible for the effective provision of quality environmental services

including laundry and cleaning through the effective leadership of a

multidisciplinary team. Together, this team works closely with all

Mayflower stakeholders to deliver care without compromise.

**Qualifications and**

**requirements**:
**Mandatory**
- Experience working in a commercial laundry and/or cleaning environment.
- Previous experience leading a team.
- NDIS Check clearance
- Up to date vaccination certificate

**Desirable**
- Aged Care experience.

**Key Selection Criteria**

**Essential**
- Knowledge and skills to perform laundry and cleaning tasks as required, including relevant

chemicals, equipment and machinery.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to adjust to changing needs, prioritise and effectively manage time.
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of the diverse needs of older people and people with disabilities.
- Understanding of issues related to OH&S, infection control, manual handling and hazard

identification.

**Desirable**
- Knowledge of the Aged Care Standards.

**Key Accountabilities**

Leadership - Effective Workforce Management for all team members within the department
including but not limited to;
- Ensure effective allocation and distribution of team members within
department across all shifts.
- Manage unplanned leave.
- Assist with recruitment and onboarding of staff.

- Identify and address team member education needs in response to
resident care needs, complaints, incidents, clinical indicators, audit
results and feedback.
- Orientate and support new team members.
- Provide ongoing and timely feedback to team members on

performance.
- Proactive and ongoing communication with team members.
- Lead by example.
- Facilitate a team environment and inclusive culture.
- Lead and participate in problem solving as required.

Quality Service - Thorough auditing and monitoring of functions within environmental services
to ensure quality and accreditations standards are met.
- Review work practices and auditing tools as appropriate.
- Proactively contribute to the continuous improvement.
- Respond to cleaning and laundry related queries or incidents in a timely

manner.
- Provide person-centred service to residents.

Reporting - Log any maintenance concerns or request in a timely and accurate manner.
- Complete Cleaning audits for all areas in a timely and accurate manner.
- Complete Room & Building Condition Reports as required.
- Report to the relevant supervisor, any changes in resident behaviour, condition

or care needs that are observed.
Communication - Accurately document all information relevant to the provision of
environmental services.
- Document any required communications with team members.
- Liaise professionally and effectively with relevant stakeholders.

Compliance - Comply with Mayflower’s policies and procedures.
- Follow directives of supervisors.
- Act in accordance with Mayflower values.

Skills and

- Remain aware of relevant legislative standards and guidelines.
- Participate in meetings and in-service training sessions.
- Pursue ongoing development and contribute to continuous improvement.

- Comply with the OHS Act 2004 including:

- Take reasonable care to ensure your own safety, not place others at risk by any

act or omission, follow safe work practices and procedures, use and care for
equipment as instructed, not wilfully and recklessly interfere with safety
equipment, report hazards and injuries, and cooperate with Mayflower to
meet OHS obligations.

**Key Performance Indicators**
- Resident satisfaction with service.
- High job satisfaction for employees within the environmental services team.
- Maintain environmental services operations within budgeted guidelines.
- Compliance with relevant guidelines, Accreditation and Legislation requirements.
- Minimal amount of lost, damaged or wrongly washed linen.
- Facility furniture and carpets
