The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) is Australia’s national criminal intelligence agency. We advise senior decision makers on serious and organised crime impacting Australia. **About the Branch**
The Capability Support Branch maintains relationships with our partner agencies and works with internal stakeholders to support the delivery of policing, intelligence and corporate information services to meet their business needs. Through effective relationships with stakeholders, the branch delivers service improvement initiatives, and assist partner agencies in making informed strategic decisions and championing initiatives which improve our policing, intelligence and corporate information services. The Capability Support Branch contributes to ACIC strategic and planned activities through the following business hubs:

- Biometrics and Forensics
- Frontline
- Intelligence and Corporate

**About the role**
Working within the dynamic Capability Support Branch, the Director Portfolio Management Office is responsible for driving the establishment, continuous improvement and operations of the Portfolio Management Office as a trusted advisor, through the delivery of highly effective core services, including:

- portfolio office support
- portfolio management
- assurance, risk and issue management
- benefits management.

The principal accountabilities and responsibilities include:

- Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of best practice frameworks and standards to underpin the delivery of the portfolio, programs and projects, associated with the services delivered by the Portfolio Management Office
- Lead the delivery of core services and capabilities, including:

- Optimising the delivery of strategically aligned, understood, categorised, balanced, viable and benefits driven portfolio
- Supporting the successful management and delivery of programs and projects
- Providing independent portfolio, program and project assurance
- Providing strategic advice on the definition and delivery of the portfolio of programs, projects and managed activities
- Analysing and reporting on program and project activities to ACIC executives, internal and external committees and stakeholders
- Capability development across practitioners and senior executives.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills including demonstrated experience in driving change.
- Strong verbal and written communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including an ability to collaborate with others, motivate staff and influence positive outcomes
- Extensive experience in understanding the role and responsibilities of a Portfolio Management Office, including its contribution to the agency’s strategic direction
