The Health, Education and Justice team is one of four teams in the Infrastructure Planning and Advisory division, in the Infrastructure and Regional Strategy group. The division leads the implementation of the IPDP by providing advice and support to agencies and Government-Owned Corporations in relation to infrastructureproposal development and capital planning.
The Health, Education and Justice team has specific responsibility for providing advice and support to infrastructure proposals developed by agencies and Hospital and Health Services This includes engagement with agencies in the early stages of capital planning and proposal development to determine the most suitable approaches and the most appropriate role for the Department in supporting and, in some cases, assuring the development of infrastructure proposals and advising onthe development of capital plans. The team also reviews infrastructure proposals developed by agencies and Hospital and Health Services and provides strategic
advice and guidance, as well as providing regular reports on status, risks and issues to the Director-General, Minister responsible for Infrastructure, and committees of Cabinet.
To drive a strategic and coordinated approach to the development and assessment of the State's capital program, the Health, Education and Justice team works collaboratively with central agencies to ensure consistent delivery of capital plans and infrastructure proposals in line with whole-of-government objectives and priorities. The team monitors contemporary practices across government and other jurisdictions and incorporate best-practice developments to continuously improve the standard of capital planning and infrastructure proposal development.
The Manager, Health, Education and Justice team position reports to the Director, Health, Education and Justice sector. The nature of the team's work requires extensive engagement with delivery agencies, central agencies and, on occasion, private sector advisors across a wide range of matters relating to capital planning
and infrastructure proposal development. This position may also be required to work with or in other sector teams in Infrastructure Planning and Advisory.
