In the next 12 months we will be going through a period of transformation and change, reaffirming the Retirement Living business as a key market stakeholder and allowing us to focus on works best for our business and the people we service.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity for a Refurbishment Manager to oversee the delivery of resale renovation works (reinstatement & refurbishment works) for our NSW Central Coast Retirement Living Refurbishment Team. Reporting to the National Refurbishment Manager, your purpose is to create the most desirable place to live for residents through unit and apartment refurbishment projects throughout the NSW Retirement Living portfolio.

In this role as a Refurbishment Manager, you will perform project management duties including unit inspections, documenting scope, tendering, contractor engagement and subsequent client-side management of contractors.

You will be in regular communication with both internal and external stakeholders, monitoring and assisting in client-side management of end-to-end project delivery, including contractor prequalification and subsequent project handover/quality assurance.

You will also be tasked with duties such as preparing contracts, issuing purchase orders, processing supplier invoicing, management of warranty claims, maintenance of central project files and assistance in the preparation of monthly reporting. In addition to this, NSW Refurbishment Manager will also be responsible for:
- Delivering refurbishment projects with end customer in mind- Complete the re-sale process which involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all deliverables and timings are met- Creation of scope and specification documentation, tender distribution & tender assessment- Complete general contract administration duties as well as the key functions in the re-sale process- Ensure safety and compliance of contractors and suppliers on site- Complete EHS audits and Contractor onboarding process- Adhere to costs, standards, and ensure the refurbishment works are completed by the settlement date- Excellent time management skills and the ability to provide direction to contractors and consultants

About You

Your proactive and driven attitude will see you succeed in the team, as well as an ability to work autonomously to deliver professional outcomes. Effective stakeholder engagement and strong communication and efficient data system management will be key to your success in this role as will:
- Significant demonstrated experience in residential refurbishments from a project coordination or builder perspective- Previous experience project managing maintenance and residential build works, highly regarded- Previous experience coordinating and negotiating with construction contractors;- Computer literate - must be competent with Microsoft Word and Excel- Demonstrated project planning and management skills;- Ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels;- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;- Commitment to quality, professionalism, confidentiality and attention to detail
