**Your new company**

Join a fast-paced and engaging team situated within a Federal Government department located in central Canberra. You will be instrumental in the development of a range of media and communications plans and strategies.

**Your new role**

Your strong capability to operate both independently and within a small team, analyse clients' needs, and make research-based decisions will be crucial as you produce communication material for a wide variety of audiences across multiple media platforms. You will be helping develop and mentor younger team members. You manage several tasks at once and can work with competing priorities to deliver communication projects that align with the department’s objectives. In addition, you will be required to:

- Develop and maintain successful relationships with other business areas, anticipating and assessing their communication needs
- Develop communication material, including, but not limited to, web content, communication products, and videos
- Monitor and report on the implementation of strategic communication initiatives
- Coordinate the management of communication contracts and resources

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Deep understanding of First Nation cultures
- Strongly demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Self-manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant degree or tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications, public relations or marketing
- 5 years’ experience in government communications positions
- Baseline clearance or the ability to obtain

**What you'll get in return**

The successful applicant will be engaged in a non-ongoing government contract for 12 months paid at the EL1 salary banding with 15.4% superannuation.
