Environmental Consultant

GHD’s **Environmental Assessment **team has a strong and increasing workload and we are looking for a talented Environmental Consultant to join us in delivering for our clients across all market sectors, including Defence. Our current project portfolio includes undertaking environmental and ecological assessments, obtaining regulatory approvals and providing innovative environmental management solutions for government, industry and private sector clients across **South Queensland **and in collaboration with GHD colleagues across Australia.

Our team in Brisbane comprises environmental professionals ranging from new graduates to experienced Technical Directors with 20 years’ experience so this is an opportunity to grow your career and gain experience across a range of disciplines within a supportive environment and alongside industry professionals.

As an Environmental Consultant with approximately 2-8 years’ experience, you will report to the Team Leader - Environmental Assessment Brisbane. Your key roles and responsibilities will involve:

- Completing technical project work, desk based and field work in environmental assessment, planning and management to a high standard, ensuring client satisfaction
- Designing and coordinating environmental assessments and studies
- Supporting project managers throughout a project’s lifecycle from proposal through to delivery
- Developing business opportunities through establishing client relationships and winning repeat work
- Working across a broad range of market sectors, including infrastructure (such as road, rail, ports, pipelines and/or dams), utilities, renewables, oil and gas and mining.
- Working with junior staff in a mentoring capacity

**What you will bring to the team**:

- Is a team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Has strong presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Is technically competent and takes ownership of work
- Is confident, motivated and has a desire to continually meet and exceed client expectations
- Has a good technical knowledge and an established background in environmental assessment, planning and management
- Has demonstrated knowledge of Commonwealth and Queensland environmental legislation and policy
- Experience in preparation of environmental impact assessments and regulatory planning reports
- Has relevant tertiary qualification e.g. Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Planning or similar
- Has, or is eligible to obtain a minimum Baseline security clearance
