**Our Next Junior Environmental Consultant **
Okane has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Environmental Consultant to join our Oceania team. The role will support Okane's leading mine closure consulting services through an integrated life of mine (LOM) approach, providing interdisciplinary support to various environmental science, soil science, geoscience, and revegetation projects. This position will be based in our Perth or Brisbane office.
**Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities**
- Prepare proficient technical documentation and reports in the area of technical discipline.
- Tasks may involve assessment of soil, vegetation, land use, erosion and sediment control, land management, and supporting cover system design.
- Scope and deliver revegetation investigations to support projects (site investigations, monitoring equipment installations etc).
- Interact competently with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels of expertise.
- Foster and maintain client relationships.
- Complete background reviews for conceptual model development.
- Update and maintain databases.
- Plan field investigations such as material sampling programs and construction QA/ QC projects.
- Provide on-site support, up to 50% field based during portions of the year.
**Job Requirements**
- Educational background in environmental engineering, mining engineering, biology, ecology, earth sciences, environmental science, geology, soil science, or environmental technology is an asset.
- Demonstrate an understanding of project budgets and schedules.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills.
- Advanced skills in the areas of time management, planning and organising.
- Demonstrate an ability to competently use their initiative to resolve tasks or problems that arise.
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly with colleagues.
- Actively seek personal and professional development opportunities.
- Comfortable with presenting at applicable technical conferences would be an asset.
