One (1) Cloud Adoption Strategist

Successful specified personnel will work for the Technology Architecture section that has responsibilities for the technology & enabling architecture vertical domain as well as the horizontal enterprise infrastructure and integration architecture domains. The section also delivers strategic technology leadership, and provides governance and design services to this Department for technology deployment and use. The section provides assistance to projects including: requirements management; advisory services on infrastructure and technology solutions; develop, maintain and promote platform architecture and technology roadmaps; assess the suitability of new technologies, innovations and approaches for possible adoption within the department; liaise with vendors in relation to technology; manage requests for the services provided by the broader enterprise architecture practice including service request registration, tracking, and assignment and reporting; provide assistance to operational teams as part on ongoing problem management investigations and resolution The Cloud Adoption Strategist will be required to lead the design and execution of the departments cloud adoption strategy and roadmap. This role will define and document the motivations behind cloud adoption, define/document business outcomes, plan and assist in the implementation of cloud technologies, document/address potential risks and determine cloud deployment/service models. Specified personnel must possess a high level of collaborating skills to engage stakeholders across the Department including communicating strategies to senior executives. A level of technical skills including understanding of technical infrastructure, development and presentation of technical designs is desirable. The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to:Leading the development of a cloud adoption strategy and roadmap;Engaging with and coordinating stakeholders across the department;Leading the development of cloud technology capabilities and system architecture artefacts (solution designs / blueprints);Providing architectural services across a highly complex environment;Documenting solution architecture and road map(s);Developing and oversighting detailed designs;Directing Architects in the development of the solutions including quality assurance of the artefacts;Assisting in the preparation of project work plans with respect to architecture and design;Providing guidance through the Architectural Governance process in concert with the Lead Domain Architect;Ensuring artefacts produced are fit for purpose, adhere to the architecture standards and patterns, and are suitable for approval to the respective governance boards (such as the Architecture Review Board);Ensuring that project architecture artefacts are produced by the required deadlines set by program, project and/or release timeframes;Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships (including Executives, business representatives, project managers, solution architects);Developing positive team ethos within the immediate workgroup through positive participation and communication. Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department's recordkeeping policy and practices. The Specified Personnel will also be responsible for producing the following deliverables, including but not limited to:Cloud adoption strategy and roadmaps;Cloud capabilities and reference architecture;Design reviews;Project architecture artefacts (such as solution outlines and system and security architecture documentation); andArchitectural decision documentation;Stakeholder engagement plans.
