Cloud Adoption Strategist

Our Federal Government Client is seeking a **Cloud Adoption Strategist** to work for the Technology Architecture section that has responsibilities for the technology & enabling architecture vertical domain as well as the horizontal enterprise infrastructure and integration architecture domains. The section also delivers strategic technology leadership and provides governance and design services to Home Affairs for technology deployment and use.

The Cloud Adoption Strategist will be required to lead the design and execution of Home Affairs cloud adoption strategy and roadmap. This role will define and document the motivations behind cloud adoption, define/document business outcomes, plan and assist in the implementation of cloud technologies, document/address potential risks and determine cloud deployment/service models.

Specified personnel must possess a high level of collaborating skills to engage stakeholders across the Department including communicating strategies to senior executives. A level of technical skills including understanding of technical infrastructure, development and presentation of technical designs is desirable.

**Duties include**:

- Leading the development of a cloud adoption strategy and roadmap;
- Engaging with and coordinating stakeholders across the department;
- Leading the development of cloud technology capabilities and system architecture artefacts (solution designs / blueprints);
- Providing architectural services across a highly complex environment;
- Documenting solution architecture and road map(s);
- Developing and oversighting detailed designs;
- Directing Architects in the development of the solutions including quality assurance of the artefacts;
- Assisting in the preparation of project work plans with respect to architecture and design;
- Providing guidance through the Architectural Governance process in concert with the Lead Domain Architect;
- Ensuring artefacts produced are fit for purpose, adhere to the architecture standards and patterns, and are suitable for approval to the respective governance boards (such as the Architecture Review Board);
- Ensuring that project architecture artefacts are produced by the required deadlines set by program, project and/or release timeframes;
- Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships (including Executives, business representatives, project managers, solution architects);
- Developing positive team ethos within the immediate workgroup through positive participation and communication.

The Specified Personnel will also be responsible for producing the following deliverables, including but not limited to:

- Cloud adoption strategy and roadmaps;
- Cloud capabilities and reference architecture;
- Design reviews;
- Project architecture artefacts (such as solution outlines and system and security architecture documentation); and
- Architectural decision documentation;
- Stakeholder engagement plans.

**To be successful in this role you should have**:

- Demonstrated knowledge of software, architecture frameworks, corporate technology and ICT architecture design and patterns
- Extensive experience with architecting ICT solutions, technologies, and Government systems within a complex enterprise ICT environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of architectural frameworks and governance processes
- Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement across ICT and business stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups including the capability to build effective and collaborative working relationships across the Department and Portfolio agencies
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and professionally under pressure with short time frames and competing priorities

**It is desirable if you have**:

- Experience and understanding of cyber security processes and systems
- Experience and knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud platform solutions
