**Role description**:
With exciting, large scale civil infrastructure projects now in our portfolio, we are growing the tunnel engineering teams in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. This rare opportunity is to join a small but rapidly growing National team to represent Arcadis as the Tunnels Lead in Sydney. This role will provide the opportunity to make your mark on large scale underground projects and also be a fundamental part of shaping the national tunnels and structures team.

You will play a key leadership role in the identification, pursuit and design delivery of the biggest transport infrastructure projects in NSW, as well as contributing to projects in other states and countries.

**Role accountabilities**:
This role has a strong technical delivery focus and will see you:

- Managing a team and the client expectations for development and delivery of packages of work for complex, multi-disciplinary tunnel projects
- Developing and presenting design options and solutions to Contractors, and Government in an advisory capacity
- Be responsible for aspects such as spaceproofing, concrete structure design, ground structure interaction design, segment lining design and finite element (FE) analysis
- Work closely with the drafting and engineering teams, overseeing the production of package drawings, reports, and contractual documentation for delivery
- Representing the team in multi-disciplinary design meetings both internally and with the client or design partners
- Developing tunnel engineers and mentoring graduate and junior engineers within the team

**Qualifications & Experience**:
First and foremost, you share our passion for improving quality of life. You are a seasoned engineering professional with a passion for digital innovation and will come to us with:

- Proven success managing projects or packages of work within mínimal supervision in multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
- Design experience in primary lining design support, structural design, construction staging, mined tunnel design or segmental lining design will be highly regarded.
- Familiar with Strand 7, Plaxis, RS2, MIDAS will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with people at all levels of a project including drafters & designers, project teams, managers and clients
- A passion for and ability to innovate, develop and collaborate in team environments
- The ability to challenge the status quo; you encourage sustainability, innovation, critical thinking and continuous improvement.
