We are a rapidly growing Financial Services business operating a number of online comparison sites in the financial services space (life insurance, home loans, health insurance, and general insurance). We are looking for an accomplished & commercially minded Head of Compliance who's keen to work flexibly in a genuine part time role 3-4 days per week, where you'll build and operate our compliance function across the group. You will be responsible for all legal and compliance matters, working closely with our Executives in each business unit, advising the Board, and partnering with the Marketing and Advice functions of the business to ensure that obligations are understood and adhered to.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Assessing and advising impact of proposed / impending legislation or regulatory change
- Developing and providing guidance to Management and staff in respect to all compliance issues and requirements (AFSL, ACL, AML, Privacy, ACCC, etc).
- Ensuring all statutory registers and appropriate returns are submitted to relevant regulatory bodies within the required timeframes.
- Working with managers to develop training for compliance policies to be deployed across the group
- Providing information, advice and support to stakeholders on key Compliance risk areas including the management of incidents and issues
- Experience in producing submissions to external bodies such as AFCA, ACMA and ASIC
- Oversee the regular compliance control testing
- Acting in the position of the organisation’s Privacy Officer & AML / CTF Officer ensuring the ongoing compliance
- Producing Board and Committee reporting

Skills and Knowledge required:

- Extensive experience in Financial Services compliance roles (preferably insurance and mortgages)
- Legal qualification is desirable however a good understanding of Australian consumer law, corporation act and AML/CTF laws is essential
- Experience with Australia’s banking and financial services laws and regulatory requirements in particular Financial Advice and Credit lending
- Ability to convey complex legislative, regulative information and wording in a simplified manner with a commercial mindset.
- Strong analytical, interpretive and communication skills
