**Key responsibilities**:

- Providing sound physical security advice to the Chief Security Officer, Defence Program Managers and Executives, aligned to, amongst other things, the Protective Security Policy Framework, ASIO Technical Notes and Defence Security Principle Framework.
- Conducting threat and risk assessments, and implement a continuous review process to ensure they remain relevant, proportionate and fit-for-purpose
- Liaising with and supporting designated facility security officers and assistant security officers whom manage the day-to-day operations of physical security zones
- Managing contractual arrangements with security service providers and arrange routine maintenance and ad-hoc repair of specialised security assets, and ensuring the timely payment of invoices
- Contributing to future secure/restricted office fit-outs to ensure compliance with Commonwealth physical security standards and preparing necessary certification documents for review by accreditation authorities
- Support the development of new, and continuously review existing, site specific security policies and procedures
- On-call duties to coordinate the response of security alarm activations afterhours (additional allowance available)
- Responding to requests from, and providing information to, internal and external stakeholders
- Maintaining security databases
- Pivoting your focus to support other elements of the Public Sector Security Team, for example personnel security requests and matters
- other reasonable tasks as directed by the Chief Security Officer - Public Sector Industry from time to time

**Key requirements**:
Critical to your success, you will be an effective team player and leverage your:

- understanding of risk management frameworks and assessment methodologies
- project management skills to achieve results
- experience in developing, maintaining, and implementing high-quality written security policies and procedures, including security communications to personnel
- excellent time management to deliver a diverse workload in a fast pace environment
- strong communication skills to clearly articulate security requirements and champion security, and
- ability to establish and maintain effective and trusted working relationships both internally and externally.

**Additional specific job requirements / qualifications**:

- You must be an Australian Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting Level 2 security clearance, and satisfactorily pass DXC’s pre-engagement integrity checks
- Previous and/or current employment in a federal government physical security advisory role (highly desirable)
- Completion of a Diploma of Security and Risk Management, and/or Diploma of Government (Security) (highly desirable)
- Completion of the DS&VS Security Officer Training within the last 3 years (highly desirable)
- Completion of Department of Defence Security Risk Management Workshop
