**About the role**

Are you a data-savvy problem solver with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for financial markets? The Public Markets, State Investments team is looking for a Portfolio Analyst in Brisbane to assist in delivering well-diversified and risk-controlled investment solutions to clients, with a focus on public (listed) markets research. In this hands-on role, you will thrive at the intersection of data, finance, and quantitative thinking, engaging in asset class research, manager research, portfolio implementation, and portfolio analysis and reporting.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Support the team with data analysis to help guide investment decisions and portfolio strategies.
- Build and update dashboards and models to automate analysis and track performance.
- Assist with the preparation of detailed client papers and reports.
- Provide support in developing Strategic Asset Allocations and portfolio solutions for clients.
- Assist with portfolio management, portfolio rebalancing and managing cash flows.Assist in performance reviews, investment research and risk reporting.

**About you**
- Degree in mathematics, data science, statistics or a related field.
- Commitment to ongoing learning, including potential pursuit of professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM or PRM.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent quantitative skills.
- Keen interest in international markets, ESG and socially responsible investing.
- Experience using Excel, Python/MATLAB or equivalent and SQL.
- Eagerness to ask questions and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
