The
**Portfolio Analyst** takes responsibility for facilitating the development and ongoing management of an optimized portfolio, ensuring senior management decisions lead to the fulfilment of strategic objectives through the delivery of programs and projects.

**_This position will play a pivotal role in the following:_**
- Delivery of the Agency Workplan
- Prioritisation of Agency initiatives through the front door process
- Promotion of the Agency’s Project Management framework and associated toolsets under the centre of excellence within the EPO
- Providing decision and governance support

**What you'll be doing**:

- Provide a strategic overview of all programs, projects
- Liaise with senior stakeholders throughout the Agency to maintain and provide expert assistance in the upkeep of the Work Plan
- Develop and maintain the Work Plan risk register, dependency register and workplan resource schedule for programs and projects throughout the Agency
- Assist the Portfolio Manager in assessing benefits management across a number of programs or projects to identify gaps, overlaps and conflicts, and eliminate double counting in the benefits management plans of individual programs and projects
- Develop, implement and monitor financial controls and strategies for budgets, spend and audits in conjunction with the finance team and Portfolio Manager
- Promotion of the Agency’s Project Management framework and associated toolsets under the centre of excellence within the EPO
- Provide expert assistance to the program and project management community on the Project Management Framework and Project Portfolio Management toolset, supporting roll out of best practice approach and effective use throughout the Agency
- Critically assess project management processes to improve workflow and effective delivery, refining, implementing and continuously improving in line with the Agency’s Project Management Framework and Project Portfolio Management toolset
- Advocate the Project Management Community of Practice within the Agency to improve access to knowledge and encourage collaboration

**What we need**:

- Knowledge and experience in contemporary portfolio, program and project management methods and tools with knowledge in MoP, P3O, PRINCE2 and PMBOK being beneficial.
- High level knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Excel, Project and Office systems including Office 365
- Solution focused with honed analytical and problem solving skills.
- Effective management capability to manage and direct a team to plan, deliver and achieve desired outcomes, transferring knowledge and skills appropriately.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Experience in program leadership and management in business or IT portfolios, programs or projects.
- Experience with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools in particular Project Online.
- Experience of working in Digital/Health environments and projects.
