The Land Engineering Agency, as part of the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, supports various Directorates and Systems Program Offices to ensure successful requirements development, acquisition and in-service support of land materiel. The Agency provides services in engineering, testing, design and development and technical data management. Services are provided across the whole of the Defence Capability Life Cycle. As a member of the Land Engineering Agency, the Technical Officer will have a unique opportunity to be part of an engineering and technical team to deliver Australian Defence Force systems that are at the leading edge of Defence capability.

**About our Team**
The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is an integral part of the Department of Defence. This group purchases and maintains military equipment and supplies in the quantities and to the service levels that are required by Defence and approved by Government. Within CASG, the Land Domain acquires and supports designated land systems for the Australian Defence Force. The ideal person for this role will be a Technical Officer who has experience in the maintenance and support of small arm systems such as Pistols, Rifles, Machine Guns and Mortars. Plus if possible, Artillery and Tank armament systems. A working knowledge of Explosive Ordnance is also preferred. As a Technical Officer, the primary role is to provide technical advice and expertise to support the achievement of Technical Integrity of land military equipment and systems.

Responsibilities of this particular role include but are not limited to:

- Provide Technical expertise and advice to the ADF, covering a plethora of different weapon systems.
- Conduct technical investigations into reported failures.
- Provide novel solutions and assistance in the resolution of issues.
- Produce and update technical documentation.
- Manage small teams of both military and civilian staff.

Working under a level of assigned technical authority, the Technical Officer Armourer/Weapons /EO can be employed to provide Technical support to the Acquisition and/or Sustainment of Small Arms, Direct and In-Direct fire Weapon Systems. Future opportunities for promotion are available, or to work in other areas at level, dependent on knowledge and skill set.
