**The Role**
The Land Engineering Agency (LEA), as part of CASG, supports various Projects and Systems Program Offices (SPO) to ensure successful technical outcomes of Defence acquisition and in-service support of land materiel. LEA provides services in engineering, testing, design and development, technical data and configuration management across the Defence Capability Life Cycle.

Within LEA, Prototype and Test Services (PTS) is responsible for the provision of testing capabilities to support the acquisition and sustainment of Land Materiel.

A Technical Officer within PTS may work in the following laboratories:
Automotive Performance Laboratory
- Vehicle performance.
- Reliability.
- Interoperability.

Data Acquisition and Analysis Laboratory
- Vehicle dynamics.
- Blast over-pressure.
- Vehicle mine-blast.
- Vibration exposure.
- Acoustics.
- Calibrations.

Electronics & Communications Laboratory
- Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)/Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC).
- Radiation hazards.
- Communications interoperability.
- Electro-optics.
- Enclosed Light Armaments Facility.
- Ammunition and weapons performance.
- Terminal ballistics.

Mechanical Environmental Laboratory
- Environmental testing (climatic and harsh environments).
- Mechanical testing (vibration, shock and tensile).

The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is an integral part of the Department of Defence. This group procures and maintains military equipment and supplies in the quantities and to the service levels that are required by Defence and approved by Government. Within CASG, the Land Domain acquires and supports designated land systems for the Australian Defence Force.

The ideal person for this role will be a Technical Officer capable of supporting the conduct of traceable and repeatable testing within one or more of the laboratories described within the Your Role section of this advertisement.
- Meet the mandatory qualifications.
- Have experience working as a technical officer with a proven track record of contributing to technical outcomes, including the development of work instructions and risk assessments, test conduct, reporting and continuous improvement of test capabilities.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, actively participate in team work
- Have sound written and oral communication skills.
- Have experience working within a Quality Management System (or similar).
