**THE OPPORTUNITY**
We are looking for an experienced Urban Design leader to join our Sydney team, a creative thinker and strong communicator wanting to further develop their career in a diverse environment. As a member of the Sydney Studio leadership team, you will play an integral role in contributing to the growth of the business by focusing on sustainable design direction, project management, and business development.
As an Associate Director, you will impart your passion for design and the importance of relationships while inspiring and leading a group of talented professionals and designers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing design input and concepts, with a high degree of personal responsibility for task management and programming across a wide variety of projects
- Managing the delivery of strategic design projects including allocated tasks and effective workload planning
- Providing technical and management support to the wider design team;
- Generation of new work through new business development and enhancing current client relationships, across a range of industry sectors; and
- Maintain and promote design excellence.
**ABOUT YOU**
This role is suited an experienced Urban Designer or Planner or related discipline who possesses the following competencies:
- Ability to develop new business;
- Sound business strategy and ability to effectively manage projects;
- Clear understanding of urban design and a passion for making a difference;
- Ability to contribute to key project overall solutions - gains the team’s trust as a thought leader
- Confidence in presenting to internal and external clients;
- Portfolio that demonstrates design excellence;
- Strong conceptual design thinking
- Ability to work in a team; setting and delivering high quality client service and technical competence.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills;
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
