**Role Summary**:
The Lead Environmental Advisor - Approvals Role is an opportunity in our Health, Safety & Environment Team based at our Perth Head Office site.

This role is responsible for developing and leading the team responsible for obtaining environmental and heritage approvals for Synergy’s projects, enabling the transition from thermal to renewable generation to occur.

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Lead and guide Environmental Impact Assessments of projects to inform project approvals.
- Prepare Environmental Approvals submissions to State and Federal regulators.
- Develop and review scopes of work for specialist studies to support environmental and heritage approvals.
- Support the preparation of planning approvals for projects.
- Liaise with external regulators, industries, industry bodies, organisations on environmental issues and programs.

**What you’ll bring**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in environmental or physical science.
- Extensive demonstrated experience leading successful submissions for State and Federal environmental approvals for significant projects under relevant legislation including: Part IV and V of the Environmental Protection Act, and Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar level role requiring strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Significant experience working in a major project/program environment.
- Knowledge and/or management of some of the following disciplines is desirable:

- Wind farm and/or Battery Energy Storage System development
- Noise
- Planning approvals
- Heritage approvals.
