**Role Summary**:
The Lead Environmental Advisor (Approvals) Role is a newly created opportunity within our HSE team. Within this role you will develop and lead the team responsible for obtaining environmental approvals for Synergy’s electricity generation and storage projects.

This role will require occasional regional travel to various sites.

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Contribute to planning of projects and programs relating to environmental approvals, including development of strategies, schedules and resource forecasts.
- Lead and guide Environmental Impact Assessments of projects to inform project approvals.
- Supervise and manage submission of environmental licence amendments, native vegetation clearing permits and approvals.
- Oversee team members who are managing and supervising environmental consultants and contractors and ensure works meet required standards.
- Liaise with external regulators, industries, industry bodies, organisations on environmental issues and programs.

**What you’ll bring**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in health, safety, environmental or physical science
- Experience preparing documentation for environmental approvals for electricity generation and storage projects
- Significant experience in environmental management of heavy industry business.
- Strong track record delivering environmental approvals for significant projects
- Experience developing and leading teams
