Our client
**Journey Beyond** has retained EGM in the sourcing for a
** General Manager, Rail Operations.**

The role is responsible for ensuring all Rail Operations are effectively and safely implemented, including the integration of growth projects into existing operations, and a reliable operational foundation is established for which our world class guest experience is delivered.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:
- Identify and implement processes that continually improve the efficiency and effective use of the groups rollingstock and infrastructure assets.Delivering the operational requirements for rollingstock to the business, ensuring availability and reliability.- Lead, coach and develop the Rail Operations team.- Positively impact guest experiences through delivering required refurbishments and
- maintenance to assets.- Work effectively with Revenue and Operations teams to develop achievable timetables that meet product requirements.- Oversee the adherence of train running times to scheduled timetables and implement appropriate monitoring and corrective procedures as required.- Lead the operations team response in emergencies.- Establish a network of operational and managerial contacts across our rail operations contractors/partners in order to solve and escalate any underperformance of operational issues immediately to provide continuity.- Cultivate constructive relationships with key stakeholders including track owners, contractors and railway operators.- Manage large operational contracts and partnerships to deliver safe, well maintained and operated, and on time reliable rail journeys.- Drive performance, delivery and high and efficient standards from our key contracts.- Direct and oversee the development and implementation of systems that deliver rail safety culture and ensure audits result in no material non-conformances.

**Key Skills and Experience**- Proven experience in a similar role, Rail Industry experience highly regarded but not required.- Demonstrated experience in strategy development and execution, including financial management and performance measures.- Superior leadership, analytical and problem solving skills, including negotiation and contractor management skills.- Understanding of best practice methodologies in related business.
