Principal Advisor Operational Risk

The role Reporting to the Manager Operational Risk, you will be responsible for advising, implementing, and leading risk management policies, processes, and procedures for the HCD Division and its programs/projects. This includes organising training for new staff, monitoring operational risk and compliance, identifying and mitigating risks, conducting research and analysis, and assessing business processes and project deliveries. Additionally, you will ensure high-quality and safe services by adhering to service quality standards and health and safety policies. You will provide risk and compliance management advice to executives, directors, and management, lead risk assessments, conduct compliance audits, analyse risk trends, develop mitigation strategies, and contribute to reporting frameworks and policies. Your role also involves promoting risk awareness, organizing training, and leading risk workshops. Furthermore, you will oversee compliance activities and provide guidance on policies and procedures, while leading staff in line with human resource practices and workplace safety.
The successful personTo be successful in this role you will possess relevant qualifications, such as Prince II project methodology or other project management certifications, which demonstrates your knowledge and expertise in project management. Additionally, you will have previous experience in risk management within a PMO or project environment, showcasing your understanding of risk assessment and mitigation strategies. Compliance with defined service quality standards, as well as occupational health and safety policies and procedures, is critical to ensure the provision of high-quality and safe services, while maintaining secure and healthy workplaces. Lastly, flexibility is required as you may be required to travel to different locations based on the demands of projects and teams.
