Create impact as an **Associate, Investments**

**YOUR ROLE**

You’ll support IAG Firemark Ventures in building its external profile and brand. You will actively be involved in the identification and research into emerging technologies and their competitive landscape. You will also help build the investment pipeline of startup businesses aligned to focus areas - through a combination of inbound and outbound outreach. You will engage with VCs and other CVCs - both locally and globally - and share knowledge and insights that will help build investment opportunities. You will conduct pitch sessions, engage business stakeholders, complete evaluations and make final recommendations of startups’ commercial and strategic viability. Lastly you will lead due diligence and commercial negotiations for deal execution.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Collaborative and comfortable with ambiguity
- Continuous learner, staying nimble and continuously thinking outside the box for learning opportunities
- Results driven attitude and delivery track record, able to influence and show others how to use scarce resources and overcome obstacles to get things done
- Strong communication skills, including ability to clearly communicate strategic rational and influence across all levels
- Ability to change people’s minds; to attract mentors; understand situations; to discern what can change and what can’t.
- 2-3 years early-stage investment, startup and/or technology innovation expertise
- Proven deal execution experience, including investment due diligence and preferably exposure to commercial negotiations
- Proven connections within the Australian and/or international start-up / venture capital ecoystems
- Program management and delivery skills, including the ability manage multiple streams of work while engaging and building relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Tertiary qualifications within a relevant business discipline
- Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research and analysis, synthesise information into insights and develop investment theses
- Must be independent and self-directed but be able to work with, collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels
