Our client is a well-capitalised family office who are looking to hire into their venture debt strategy in Australia. The role sits within the Growth Capital division which partners with innovative, high-growth companies (primarily in the Tech sector) who are often backed by Australia's leading VC funds. They provide secured financing options to these companies who have strong revenue but need capital. This strategy sits as part of a wider investment team working across a variety of mandates.

We are seeking an Investment Associate who will be heavily involved in the strategic management of the fund and existing portfolio of investments. This role will eventually lead into an investment role where you will be involved in the due diligence process for transactions, including fundamental financial analysis as well as broader market research. The role will be responsible for assessment of credit worthiness and risk profiles of prospective borrowers as well as the ongoing monitoring of the portfolio including performance reporting, tracking compliance with loan covenants, and identifying potential credit issues.

The successful candidate will ideally have 3-5 years' of relevant experience which could come from investment banking, corporate banking, Big 4 (transaction services, valuations, debt advisory, or deals), or a similar background. You will have demonstrated experience in financial analysis and modelling and ideally an understanding of lending or credit structuring. Above all, the successful candidate must have an interest in debt and be willing to roll up their sleeves, with a can-do attitude and confidence to contribute in a small, collaborative team
