**Policy Officer Environment**

**Total Package $98,808 per annum (including superannuation)**

WALGA is seeking a policy officer with knowledge of Local, State and Federal Government structures, legislation and regulations relating to environment policy to undertake research and analysis, contribute to the development of policy submissions, and represent the interests of Local Government on various committees and groups across WA.

**As Policy Officer, Environment you will**:

- Be part of a team that covers an diverse range of priority issues relevant to the Local Government sector, including climate change, sustainability, biodiversity conservation, natural resource management, biosecurity and waste management.
- Develop influential, high quality, relevant, evidence-based policy and advice.
- Consult with Local Government and represent the Sector’s interests to the WA and Commonwealth Governments and other stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities.
- Build Sector capacity and knowledge sharing through the delivery of events, workshops and training.
- Work with experienced and senior experts to drive change.
