**The Company**
Our client is a global leader providing goods and services into various industries including mining, construction, and transport. After re-defining the Procurement function, they are ready to elevate the business unit to provide procurement activities at group level driving further value and cost saving initiatives. Due to this development, they are looking to hire a Category Manager on a permanent basis to enhance the current team dynamic.

**The Role**
Reporting into the Head of Procurement, this Category Manager will partner with key stakeholders across various business units to lead and deliver specific category activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead a small team of Procurement Specialists
- Development and drive the implementation of Procurement strategies, policies, and initiatives
- Drive strategic sourcing and cost saving activities for goods and services
- Deliver successful end to end tender processes within allotted timeframes
- Manage supplier negotiations and conduct supply market intelligence studies
- Lead contract performance and strategic relationship management activities to deliver safe, effective, and efficient outcomes for the group
- Define, and update procurement policies and procedures adopting best practices and ensuring business requirements are met
- Monitor compliance and implement continuous improvement on procurement processes, policies, and procedures
- Provide advice for matters relating to procurement processes and contracts
- Identify and monitor spend targets and propose improvement measures
- Drive the achievement of procurement KPI’s
- Develop and maintain preferred supplier program and registration
**Skills & Experience**
- Proven experience within a Category Manager/Procurement Manager/Senior Specialist role conducting pre-and post-award procurement activities
- Previous experience leading a team is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work within a developing environment
- Passionate about delivering successful outcomes for stakeholders
