An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to join the Palliative Care Service as the**Palliative Care CNC Team Leader.**

The **Palliative Care CNC Team Leader **is a full time, permanent position, responsible for providing clinical and operational leadership and management to the Palliative Care CNC team, to ensure optimal advanced practice nursing care and outcomes for patients receiving palliative care

Palliative Care Services are located with comprehensive cancer services at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre at Austin Health, and include a 24-bed specialist inpatient Palliative Care Unit, a Consultancy service to inpatients of the Austin Hospital, an Outpatient Clinic, Palliative Care Clinical Trials,a Palliative Care Acute Transition Home (PATH) service and liaising with regional Community Palliative Care Services for the support of patients at home. The Palliative Care CNC team forms an integral part of all elements of the Palliative Care Service.

**To be successful in this role you must be/have**:

- Registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Post graduate qualification in palliative care nursing or equivalent
- Significant experience in specialist palliative care in an inpatient, ambulatory and community setting, at a senior level
- Demonstrated experience in a senior nursing management role, including human resource and budgetary management- Evidence of a commitment to excellence in the patient centred care of palliative care patients, including monitoring and attaining relevant quality, best practice and environmental safety standards
- Ability to build a dynamic team which works effectively within a multidisciplinary environment to meet patient needs and the goals of the unit
