The role
The Planning Officer position will be responsible for contributing to system-level health service planning functions within SPB as they relate to the health and service needs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families and communities. This will include:

- Assisting in the development and monitoring of health service plans
- Undertaking analysis to develop understanding of population health needs
- Undertaking analysis to identify health service requirements
- Providing input into advice on service capacity and other health service planning information
- Administrative and secretariat support

The successful person

**To be successful in this position you will demonstrate**:

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles of First Nations health equity, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social and emotional wellbeing, and the impacts of health needs and services on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families and communities.
- Experience in planning and/or analytical projects in a large, complex service delivery organisations
- Demonstrated planning and project management skills and the ability to formulate and communicate strategic advice relevant to health service issues and needs as they relates to First Nations people.
- Ability to work concurrently on multiple bodies of work, and proven ability to work both autonomously and effectively in a team.
