This new position is an exciting opportunity within our newly developed Strategy capability of the National Fire Ant Eradication Program (NFAEP). As Planning Support Officer, you will play a key role in planning to support program functions including, but not limited to, intelligence, operations, compliance, engagement, and strategy. As our AO4 Planning Officer you will: - Collect and analyse information and data to draft intelligence and recommendations based on this analysis to support operational planning, progress monitoring and reporting within the operational arm of the National Fire Ant Eradication Program. Contribute to comprehensive eradication plans that guide when, where and how treatment and surveillance is undertaken by the Program
- Support the monitoring and assessment of existing and emerging risks against the operational program's progress / targets and the action and allocation or reallocation of resources required to support the achievement of program deliverables
- Support the development, review, documentation, updating and communication of program procedures and protocols for the guidance of staff to support operational decision making and delivery
- Support the manager with delivery of assigned operational outcomes and targets and contribute to the periodic review of procedures and processes within the team and outlined in treatment plans
- Contribute to reports to management ensuring information provided is reliable and of high quality and a sound basis for the team leader to frame effective recommendations
- Research and assess adaptive strategies for eradication of new infestations and similar technical matters to support the team in undertaking effective risk analyses and planning activities
Mandatory qualificationsWhile there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, practical knowledge of and the ability to use ArcGIS / ArcPro and / or Project scheduling software will be favourably regarded.
