Banking Risk or Compliance Experience required

An existing wealth management business is seeking to start a mortgage lending arm to their existing business clients and are seeking an experienced head of Risk and compliance. You will design and implement Risk Management Frameworks and implement controls and processes to mitigate risk and comply with statutory obligations. You will design appropriate controls to mitigate those risks and lead and direct how the structure will be set up. You will ensure all obligations in relation to Privacy, AFSL and NCCP legislation is being met and satisfied.

This role represents an outstanding opportunity to start lead grow a team of professionals under your direction and manage assurance functions of the organisation, while reviewing and building a new and solid foundation of controls that underpinned the operational compliance of the organisation.

Responsibilities will include
- Design Implement and review operational and compliance risk management frameworks
- Set and meet assurance KPI targets
- Provide internal direction, guidance and advice on risk matters, controls, regulations, client policies, current procedures
- Investigate, manage control breaches or failures
- Manage client stakeholder relationships at senior levels management effectively and confidently
- Lead compliance and assurance measures through senior internal management
- Provide training and guidance to management to ensure internal controls and processes are adhered too
- Manage your dedicated team of assurance professionals
- Strong Analysis and Conceptual skills and the ability to review concepts objectively
- Ability to influence and manage a small team
- Strong reporting and stakeholder management skills
- Graduate qualification in relevant Studies
- CA ( Chartered Accounting Qualification) preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience in banking
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Senior Risk or Compliance Manager with banking or financial services firm ideally in mortgages
- NCCP and AFSL knowledge is required
