Job Description

At St Vincent de Paul Society, our **Youth Facilitators** are responsible for assisting and supporting the local Diocese and State Youth Department to deliver youth programs and promote youth involvement in the Society.

Under the supervision of the Youth Engagement and Development Coordinator, your role will be proactive in achieving the youth objectives of strategic plans by:

- Assisting in the implementation and administration of youth programs that engage young volunteers and create a safe environment for children and young people where social connection and resilience can be fostered
- Supporting youth program volunteer members and promoting pathways to Society membership
- Developing and facilitating school engagement opportunities that connect school communities to the mission of the Society

A key focus of this role will be to increase schools’ engagement and pathways for growth for Toowoomba Youth.

This is a **permanent part-time** position (**2 days per week**) based in** Toowoomba**.

Desired Skills and Experience

**To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria**:

- Relevant qualification or equivalent in ministry, community work, teaching/education, or related areas and/or experience in a similar position
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Contribute positively within a team environment
- Effective communication and time management skills
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality
- Demonstrate genuine respect for all people regardless of their situation
- Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society
