**About Oakey State High School**:
Oakey State High School's plan for youth engagement will give all young people a chance to succeed. However, some children and young people experience barriers to successful participation. Risk of disengagement can happen at any phase of secondary education. Timely and skilled interventions can support many students to get back on track. Oakey State High School has a unique opportunity for a Youth Support Coordinator to work with secondary students at risk of disengaging from education.

**Your role**:As the Youth Support Coordinator you will**:

- Refer at risk students to appropriate agencies and support services that will assist students to overcome barriers to education and training.
- Provide individual support, case management and, where appropriate, group support to students to maximise their engagement with education and training.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Interagency collaboration and community engagement through attendance at community meetings and networking with local services
- Identification of students at risk of disengaging
- Case management on individual level and participation in Student Support and Wellbeing Teams
- Development and facilitation of lunchtime programs (lunch and breakfast club) responsive student needs
- Development and facilitation of social skills and other Student Support Programs responsive to student needs and school data
- Being an active part of the school and wider community
