Who we are looking for

Based in Sydney but covering Asia Pacific clients, the role reports to the head of Global Equity Beta Solutions (GEBS) Portfolio Strategy (APAC), who is also based in Sydney. Portfolio Specialists are high energy, organised individuals with excellent communications skills, strong investment acumen and a desire to grow into a client-facing investment role. The Portfolio Specialist is multi-faceted and plays an important role in new product development, serving as a first point of contact for Legal, Compliance, Sales and Marketing on all investment product related communication.

The Australian-based GEBS business is responsible for a wide variety of index strategies across core market cap, style, factor, REIT/infrastructure and ESG/climate themes. As the largest asset manager in Australia with commanding market share in institutional equity indexing, the Portfolio Specialist role will be responsible for supporting many of Australia’s largest superannuation funds and their evolving investment mandates with us.

What you will be responsible for

As a Portfolio Specialist (Equity Indexing), you will be responsible for:- Portfolio Analytics - exposure, attribution, risk and ESG analysis across a wide variety of regional, sector and style index exposures- Commentaries - writing regular portfolio commentaries for client distribution and publication- Collateral Updates & Client Reporting - assist in the update of strategy collateral including factsheets, cheat sheets, presentations and customised client reports.- Content & Messaging - take ownership of developing new content and messaging for flagship strategies and ensure consistency of presentation standards in all internal and external communications.- Ad hoc Strategy & Client Support - provide ongoing support for existing strategies by coordinating due diligence questionnaires, RFP responses and ad hoc client queries- Operational Efficiency - seek ways to streamline processes and reporting by building automation tools and liaising with global teams and resources- Risk Excellence - adhere to highest standards of risk excellence by liaising with our Marketing, Compliance, Content Management, Legal and Product teams to ensure strategy collateral meets all requirements.

Education & Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree, likely in a finance, mathematical, scientific or economics discipline.- CFA or pursuing the CFA or similar designation- 3-6 years relevant investment experience (equities required)- Excellent quantitative skills, in particular the ability to analyse and evaluate large amounts of numerical data and present findings in a clear, concise manner.- Strong verbal and written communication skills- A passion for financial markets and investing- Team player, with ability to operate independently and deliver results within clear timelines- Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel (Advanced), Word- Knowledge of Factset and Bloomberg
