**What’s the role?**
Sky News Australia is looking to recruit a TV Producer with excellent writing and production skills for its opinion programs. The successful applicant will play a key role in putting the network’s leading television programs to air each evening.
We are looking for a journalist who lives and breathes politics, news and current affairs and loves television.
**Key Responsibilities**:
+ Work closely with the host to produce programs that inform and entertain our viewers.
+ Produce accurate and well-written copy, with compelling teases, smart intros and brilliant questions for panel topics.
+ Come up with excellent ideas for fresh contributors on a range of themes.
+ Identify interesting stories to discuss, with supporting elements.
+ Book talent into studios and liaise over what they’ll bring to the show’s dialogue.
+ Write straps and create graphic elements to energise editorials and add visuals to panel chats.
+ Cut overlay and grabs using our Quantel editing software and input the correct production instructions into the ENPS platform for control room staff.
+ Output shows live from the control room, communicating with pilots, TDs, hosts, reporters and guests
+ Collaborate with a small team to produce a clean, quality, risk-free, legally sound rundown.
+ Collaborate with our Digital team to ensure your best content reaches our worldwide audience across our platforms.
**Who are you?**
+ You have newsroom experience, and preferably have worked in TV or radio.
+ You are a great writer with a nice turn of phrase who can mount a persuasive argument and can turn out read-me straps to accompany the conversation.
+ You are a news junkie who is totally on top of the daily agenda.
+ You have a handle on social media and can offer clips to enrich our programs.
+ You are able to tune into the voice of your host and adapt your writing accordingly.
+ You are full of ideas.
+ You have great time-management skills and are calm under pressure.
+ You enjoy being part of a friendly and professional team.
+ You are not a 9-5 person, you understand we work evenings and some weekends as part of the news cycle.
+ You are keen to stay up to date with television law and ensure the channel upholds broadcasting codes
