**About Your Role
Thales Australia provides logistics services expertise to our customer, the Australian Defence Force. Thales will train and qualify you to work in each area of our logistics business including, storage, maintenance and distribution. This will be comprised of ‘on the job’ training as well as courses through our in-house registered training organisation.

The Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) provides a critical role in safeguarding Australia through a world-class, compliant and safe Defence and national security explosives research capability.

The Asset Inventory Officer has the primary role of conducting research level inventory accounting and transaction data entry into the organisations inventory accounting data base in support of the DST research program. Perform inventory management functions by operation of stock control computer and associated systems whilst ensuring effective customer service to DST and provide support and assistance to EO technical team with all logístical operations.

The Asset Inventory Officer will be responsible for the following tasks
- Conduct Asset and EO inventory management and accounting, data entry, and documentation utilizing various DST inventory accounting systems and associated record keeping.
- Provide assistance with the management and development of EO documentation in the DST Group Explosives Management system (XMS) in consultation with various Stakeholders
- Manage data entry into DST EO information systems, the primary DST Group Administrator and User.
- Manage inventory assurance and stock checks for EO and associated assets.
- Participate in internal assurance and investigation, discrepancies, and acquittals.
- Liaison with Defence EO Services.
- Identify and correct data errors and account discrepancies.
- Monitor EO storage inventory with respect to routine inspection programs.
- Prepare and provide relevant reports and documentation.
- Provide advice and support to problem-solving activities.
- Understand and implement regulatory requirements, including defence security, HSE, EEO, work instructions, and technical instructions.
- Lead a work team in the coordination of a key function independently or in collaboration with supervisor and/or manager.
- Conduct Contractor escorting tasks in support of facility operations.
- Assist Explosive Ordnance Technical Officer primary operations.
- Provide support to EO transport and logistic operations between DST sites.

**How About You?**
- Completed training/demonstrated competence Certificate IV in EO or the ability to obtain
- Strong data entry capabilities with intermediate to advanced levels in Excel and Word
- Previous experience in working with EO, including warehousing and transportation and packaging of EO would be advantageous
- Previous experience in facilities inspection as well as stock checks
- preferably already hold a current AGSVA (NV1) security clearance or higher
