The Role
We’re looking for a Turf Maintenance Officer to join our Environmental Sustainability and Open Spaces team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day care and maintenance of Boroondara’s 54 sportsgrounds. You’ll be based at the Freeway Golf Course Depot but will work across a range of sites to support the delivery of high-quality turf services for our community.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be part of a passionate and skilled turf management team, working collaboratively and rotating across sites as needed. You'll participate in toolbox meetings, report hazards, and contribute to a strong safety-first culture. Accurate recordkeeping and a commitment to completing tasks on time and to a high standard are essential.
About you
We’re looking for someone who holds a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management, with demonstrated hands-on experience in the maintenance of sportsgrounds or similar turf surfaces. You’ll have a sound understanding of turf health, irrigation systems, and the safe use of turf-related machinery and chemicals. A current driver’s licence is required, and experience in wicket curation or working within local government would be a bonus.
