**The Role**
As a member of the Directorate of Defence Stocktaking, the APS6 Stocktake Policy and Reporting Manager will be employed as part of a small team who works with stakeholders across the Defence enterprise to deliver assurance over asset holdings across multiple systems in support of Defence capabilities.
The role within the Stocktake Team requires an enthusiastic, self-starter who has the ability to contribute to all aspects of stocktake activities across Defence using systems and tools in accordance with policy and procedures. There is an element of travel by vehicle and/or aeroplane associated with this role. The incumbent of this position may be required to occasionally undertake local, regional or interstate travel.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Providing accurate specialist advice in relation to Defence stocktaking policy and procedures.
- Leading stocktaking reviews and updates for specialist asset management and reporting systems including COMSARM/CadetNet/SRS plus associated policy/procedure development and analysis.
- Developing and analysing Defence stocktake performance and progress reports.
- Performing investigations and stocktake remediation/reconciliation duties.
- Providing secretariat support to the Defence Stocktake Working Group.
- Attending and contributing to various working groups, forums and meetings.
**About our Team**
You will possess well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging key stakeholders through liaison, negotiation and consultation; and will develop high level reports for senior Defence committees, conduct analysis of data, maintain registers, identify opportunities for continuous improvement and be able to adapt to the needs, tasks and responsibilities of the Directorate. The position will work within a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures in accordance with Defence’s business objectives.
The position will be required to navigate the policy, process and reporting changes necessary to be implemented due to Defence ERP Tranche1B, whilst looking forward to future Tranches.
