**Duties and Responsibilities**:
We are seeking a permanent full-time (37.5 hours per week), experienced and motivated **Serology Scientist** with at least **5 years medical laboratory experience** to join our busy team. In this role, you will work Monday - Friday and participate on weekend and on-call rosters.

In this role, you will be responsible for **supporting** the Serology Manager in the supervision of scientific and technical work in the department.**

Core duties:

- Workflow and staff management and rostering;
- Review and update procedures;
- Review significant pathology reporting;
- QC review and troubleshooting;
- Staff training and development;
- Perform and oversee validations;
- Liaise with pathologists;
- Complete routine bench work; and
- Manager duties in the absence of the Serology Manager.

The position will require you to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.

**Skills and experience**:
You will also require:

- Tertiary qualifications **in medical laboratory science or equivalent**:

- Experience in training staff
- Experience with BioRad Unity and Microsoft Office will be highly desirable
- Testing and reporting for a comprehensive menu of infectious diseases and autoimmune diseases utilising ELISA, automated ChLIA, CFT, Agglutination, and LFA.
- Familiar with laboratory standard requirements

This is a perfect role for an enthusiastic individual who has a flexible approach to their work as you will be required to work rostered shifts, including Saturdays and public holiday work as required. You'll also have the ability to work both autonomously and as a team member in this busy department.
