The Administrative Officer is multi-skilled in all administrative aspects of a SALHN Outpatient area. They are responsible for the provision of confidential, efficient and comprehensive customer orientated frontline administrative support.
**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Administration Coordinator this role is responsible and accountable for providing these services to the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy dept, to its patients, Consumers and University staff and students.
- Processing all new referrals by updating the Outpatient Referrals Applications software package.
- Adjusting appointments when clinics are cancelled and notifying patients of any changes.
- Providing support services on a roster basis to cover 7.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
- Arranging interpreting services for patients requiring an interpreter.
**About you**:
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively and tactfully relate to the public, patients and staff.
- Ability to resolve (or escalate as needed) problems, including patient complaints and manage small projects.
- Ability to effectively and appropriately manage workloads. This includes setting and managing task prioritization work when working in times of high demand.
