**About the role**
Ventia’s contract for the Department of Justice are seeking an engaging and supportive** People & Capability (P&C) Advisor** to join the Court Security & Custodial Services (CS&CS) team based in Canning Vale. Whilst this role is based locally, it may involve occasional travel to other parts of the State, including regional areas. Because of this, you may need to stay away from home for short periods of time.
This position supports the P&C Business Partner and Management team in all generalist HR activities, specifically reviewing and advising on HR policies and processes across the business, ensuring the most effective utilisation of human resources for the purpose of achieving strategic business objectives.
This role primarily will deliver operational HR advice to the management team across the business and provide the full range of general Human Resources services and activities.

**Key duties but not limited to**:
- Support the development, implementation, monitoring and review of HR strategy and plans
- Provide advice and support to management in relation to statutory and industrial requirements, and contemporary HR practices
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of various policies and procedures
- Influence initiatives that support employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention
- Support staff grievances and complaints processes
- Assist with ad hoc projects and initiatives as required
- Positively promote and contribute to a diverse, inclusive and fair work environment, free from discrimination, bullying and harassment
**Skills and experience required**:
- Minimum of Degree level qualification in human resources management or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in resolving human resources management workplace issues, ideally for a Blue-Collar workforce
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills which allow you to build relationships with a wide variety of people across the business
- A positive attitude and growth mindset, someone who is motivated to learn new things and open to feedback
- Highly developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain agile and resilient, even when facing resistance or pressure to change
