Job Summary:
The Rig Manager or Tourpusher is the supervisor of the rig and camp for the duration of their Tour. They coordinate the work of the crews who may be assigned to that rig

Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

- Supervision of the rig, camp and its personnel for a designated 12-hour period
- Responsible for carrying out the drilling programs issued by the Operator in a safe and timely manner, during his designated 12 hour shift
- Assist the Rig Manager with the overall administration of the rig, and the coordination of people, equipment and materials
- Ensure that all personnel are working in a safe manner, and that all equipment is in a safe operable condition
- Strive to develop a safe work culture at the rig site, and ensuring that the HSE directives from Ensign and the Operator are being followed
- Assists the Rig Manager with all activities, in liaison with the Operator’s Representative and other service companies as necessary. All operations are to be performed in the safest and most efficient way possible
- The Tour Pusher is the supervisor of the rig from 6pm to 6am and is expected to fill in on crew change days. During periods of operational difficulty or uncertainty the Tour Pusher may at any time refer to the Rig Manager as necessary
- Assists the Rig Manager with the administration of the rig, including: daily reports, materials, certification and investigation of equipment failures
- Prepares, when required, detailed daily programs in conjunction with the Rig Manager and the Operator’s Representative
- Assists the Rig Manager with rig and camp moves
- Responsible for ensuring that the crews are working as a team in a safe and cohesive manner during his designated 12 hour shift
- Responsible for the discipline and motivation of the rig crew during his shift
- Responsible during his shift, for on-the-job training of the driller and crew in safe working practices, proper operations and care and maintenance of the Rig and its associated equipment
- With the Rig Manager and Field Superintendent, initiate disciplinary action against personnel who are not performing their duties in compliance with the established HSE Policies and work procedures of Ensign and the Operator
- Any further reasonable duties as directed by a supervisor
- Undertake all other work as requested by Management
- From time to time there will be a requirement for you work reasonable overtime in addition to the ordinary hours
- Comply with all QA policies and work procedures

- Contribute to the development of and improvements in departmental QA procedures
- Actively work towards achieving/maintaining of Training Matrix in accordance with organisational KPI’s
