As a House Supervisor, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality therapeutic care within a trauma-informed framework. Your leadership and expertise will guide a team of dedicated youth workers as you create a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for young people in residential care. **This is an ongoing Full-time opportunity based in Canberra, ACT within our Out of Home Care (OOHC) Program. The position reports Residential Youth Care Coordinator**
**What You’ll Do**:
- ** Lead with Purpose**:Provide strong leadership and guide your team in implementing best practice therapeutic care, deepening their understanding of trauma-informed care.
- ** Be the Heart of the Home**:Oversee the daily operations of the residential home, ensuring it’s a safe and supportive space for young people to grow and thrive.
- ** Support Healing Journeys**:Coordinate and provide direct care, supporting the emotional, social, and behavioural development of young residents.
- ** Foster a Therapeutic Environment**:Create and maintain a positive, nurturing atmosphere where young people feel safe, supported, and empowered.
- ** Develop and Inspire**:Lead, support, and supervise your team of youth workers, ensuring their growth and development as they care for young people.
- ** Collaborate and Innovate**:Work closely with our Therapeutic Specialists, Case Workers, and Coordinators to deliver innovative solutions and positive outcomes.
- ** Manage with Excellence**: Oversee household finances and resources, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
**Who You Are**:
- ** A Trauma-Informed Leader**:You understand the power of trauma-informed care and are committed to building a deep, impactful therapeutic environment for young people.
- ** Experienced & Educated**:You hold a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Management, or a related field, and bring proven experience in leading and supervising teams.
- ** Passionate About Child Protection**:You have a strong understanding of child protection and statutory frameworks, with a track record of delivering positive outcomes for vulnerable young people.
- ** A Relationship Builder**:You excel in building strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, always working towards a common goal.
- ** Culturally Aware**: You are committed to understanding and respecting Aboriginal culture and values, and aware of the challenges faced by Aboriginal children and young people.
